FAQs

  • The great news is that Pilates is for everybody!

No matter your age, fitness level, flexibility, experience or gender.  We recommend starting with our Essentials class if you’re new to reformer and want to jump straight into group classes. We also offer Athletic, Melt and Sweat that are suitable for those new to reformer pilates.

Want to try out our classes? We have a few introductory offers for new clients: 50% off the drop-in rate for your first class or 3 classes for $50. This applies to all of our group classes (not Private sessions or workshops).

Looking for a more personalized approach or to work on a specific goal? If you have any specific concerns and would like to have a bit more attention before you join the classes, then you can also book a one-on-one private session.

Try our Intro Privates offer: 2 privates and 4 group classes for $300. These sessions give you a little more attention, so you can work on your technique and feel more confident.

Please note, clients must be aged 16+ to attend reformer classes.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your first class to fill out a waiver, get a tour and familiarize yourself with the equipment. If you arrive late, you may be asked to reschedule for safety reasons.

  • Your smile – and your grip socks! We sell grip socks in the studio if you need a pair. They are required for all equipment classes.

We provide all props and mats for classes.

Don’t forget your water bottle to fill up here, if you do forget we do have a few re-usable cups for water.

We also provide complimentary sweat towels.

  • We recommend clothing you can move, bend and sweat in. Grip socks are required and are for sale at the studio, but you are more than welcome to purchase your own grip socks from where ever you’d like.

  • This depends on your goals and other training activities, we suggest starting with 2-3 classes per week to get all the benefits and give you the best results. If you are looking to only do Pilates as your main workout, 3-5 times a week with a healthy mix of class styles will keep you strong and healthy.

  • Lockers, cubbies and coat hooks are provided! Please keep all valuables locked up, we are not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Missing something? check with your instructor, we do have a lost & found.

Our studio does not have showers.

  • All of our classes are pre-booked online through the Momence platform or the Momence app (download it from your app store). Visit our Schedule, Pricing or Book Now pages on our website to get the ball rolling and then you can purchase your passes or membership and book yourself in.

To cancel your classes, please follow these steps:

    Via the website:

    1. Sign in

    2. Click ‘My events’

    3. Click cancel on the class you need to cancel

    Via your app:

    1. On the ‘Home’ page, click on the Spring Pilates Logo under ‘Book’.

    2. Click on the Calendar symbol to see this week’s classes. To see up to 6 weeks ahead, swipe the dates across to the left.

To cancel your booked or waitlist classes, visit the ‘Book’ page again and cancel the class by pressing ‘Cancel’ under ‘Upcoming For You’.

You will see when you go to book that we’re using new language to describe our services. All of you are our members, so you all hold a membership. What we called a membership is now referred to as a ‘subscription’ and passes are referred to as ‘packages’.

Please note, clients are responsible for their own bookings – we don’t handle bookings via email, phone or social media.

  • We don’t want anyone to miss out so we offer a waitlist function. Our waitlists do move so don’t be afraid to add yourself to the waitlists.

If you place yourself on a waitlist, please be aware this indicates you will attend class if moved in.  If you are moved in from the waitlist and can no long attend, please cancel yourself. We understand that last minute cancellations happen and sometimes ample amount of notice is not given, please emails us if something comes up.

If your class is early in the morning, make sure to wake up early to check if you got in, or remove yourself from the waitlist before going to bed just in case you get moved in after you’ve gone to sleep to avoid charges or pass forfeits.

With Momence, you will never be moved into a class without paying for it - if you don’t have a subscription or pass to use it will ask you to pay for the session or offer the spot to someone with a valid pass.

  • Our early cancel period is anytime up to 12 hours before class starts for group classes. If you cancel within 12 hours of the start of class you will forfeit that session. No-shows will forfeit that session AND be charged $25. This applies to everyone, class packs, Memberships and drop-ins. A class will be deducted from your membership or class pack. If you purchased a drop in (single session) it will not be refunded. You may cancel online through your Momence account, the app.

If session is cancelled within the required time frame the session will automatically be added back to your account.

Please try to early cancel so other people have the opportunity to make it to class. No one likes to miss out!

If you haven’t attended a class we will send you an email notification - if you are sent one but you were there and didn’t check in before class, please respond directly to the email so we can update your attendance.

Our Private sessions require 24 hours notice to cancel. Please make every effort to cancel before such time or the full session price will be forfeit.

For more specifics please check out our terms and conditions page.

  • We offer different subscriptions to reflect the needs of our clients. Our memberships are referred to as a ‘subscription’ in Momence (our booking platform)

Our 8 or 12 class per month memberships are the most affordable option to access all of our group classes. You can use your classes as you wish throughout the month, this membership will auto-renew every 30 days from your first class. For example, if your first class of the membership was on September 19th, your card on file will be automatically charged 30 days from September 19th.

Memberships require a 3-month commitment. After the first 3 months, you may pause or cancel your membership at any time. If you late cancel/no show, you will forfeit one of your passes for the month. If you wish to attend additional classes in a month, you will need to purchase a drop-in or a class pack to supplement your visits.

Memberships don’t roll over to the next month– you have to use them or lose them.

All memberships (subscriptions) can be paused with a minimum 7 day advanced notice for vacations/medical needs. If you must freeze your account for over 30 day, 14 days notice is required. To cancel your account, 30 days’ notice is required. Please contact the studio to process this request.

We also offer 10 and 20 class packs with 6 month validity.

All of the pricing for these are available on our pricing page.

For more specifics please check out our terms and conditions page.

  • There can be a few reasons for this.

    1. Momence, only allows you to book as many classes per month as you are allocated by your membership. This means that you won’t ever end up with unpaid visits. If you get the message you have used your allocated visits for the renewal period then you know to book from the next payment cycle.

Stripe is very specific with payment time: if for instance your week renews on a Monday at 11.54am, then you won’t be able to book in until after that time. Classes before your debit time count towards the month before.

    2. Our new payment platform is Stripe. Stripe will only try once on your payment date to take money from your account with no fees for failed attempts. If your membership is not paid at that time it will attempt to re-charge after three days. If this attempt fails, your account will be locked and you will not be able to book additional classes until you have paid. This ensures that you will be able to respond more quickly to account issues like your credit card details needing updating.

    3. Our system will only allow subscriptions to book a max of 2 classes per day - so if you’ve already locked in two classes for the day you won’t be able to book in anymore.

  • To ensure your membership can be deducted each month without hassle, please update your payment details via your Momence account. Please note, Spring Pilates cannot delete your credit card details for you - this is a Stripe security measure. However we can update the card details.

  • If you have been doing Pilates prior to pregnancy you are fine to continue your workouts with approval of your doctor. All of our classes are pre-natal friendly. Our instructors a trained on current ACSM guidelines to ensure you a safe, effective workout for your changing body.

If you are just starting an exercise regime, we recommend starting with essentials or melt after you gain approval from your physician. Due to the higher intensity if you do not currently have a cardio or strength training regime, sweat and strength may not be suitable. Please contact us if you have any questions/concerns.

Once you’re cleared to exercise post-partum, you will find Pilates is great for re-building overall strength especially in the core, pelvic floor and back. As always, if you have specific goals or areas of concern, privates are available.

  • Our 1:1 sessions are evidence based, fun and challenging privates to meet your specific needs – whether its to meet a movement or strength goal, rehabilitate an injury, hone your technique or check in pre- or post-pregnancy. These can be mat, reformer, chair, spring board or any studio equipment/props based.

Please buy your passes online through our website then contact us via email to arrange your session. We will do our best to accommodate you with your desired schedule, however we can only offer private sessions during limited time slots. Please contact us to see if we have a time slot that works for your schedule.

Late cancellation pass forfeits apply for cancellations less than 24 hours before your session. Sessions are 55 minutes and will not be extended if you are late. The session will be cancelled if you are more than 15 minutes late.

  • Out of consideration for the teacher and other clients, please don’t be late. Please be aware that if you are more than 5 minutes late for a class, you forfeit the session and are considered a No Show.

Empty reformers at the start of class will be given to our waitlisted or walk-ins clients.  Entry after 5 minutes into class will be denied for your safety and to ensure no interruption to clients currently in session.

For private sessions, your session time will not be extended and will end at the scheduled time, if you are more than 15 minutes late, without any notice, the instructor is free to leave, you will be charged for the full amount of that session.
